The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (DBT-IBSD), Shillong handed over lemongrass saplings to local progressive farmers in Ri Bhoi district.
The distribution of Lemongrass saplings was carried out at Rural Bioresorurce Complex (RBC) Byrnihat in presence of Dr. Samar Roychowdhury, Controller of Administration and Finance (CoAF), IBSD and O. Bishan Singh, Senior Account Officer, IBSD, along with the scientific and technical support staff of IBSD on Saturday.
The programme was to strengthen and create additional livelihood to the local farmers of Byrnihat through utilisation of local bioresources with an aim to transform the district after the pandemic.
