Governor Satya Pal Malik today visited Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi and held a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other District officials on centrally sponsored schemes as well as law and order.
Deputy Commissioner, R M Kurbah listed the successes and challenges of all the schemes and highlighted achievements of the district especially in the field of education and agriculture in which Ri Bhoi District has fared well.
She also raised the problems and difficulties faced by the district with regards to poor road condition, recurrent power outages, poor mobile and internet connectivity and inter-state border issues.
The Governor applauded the efforts of the district and asserted that since Ri Bhoi District is an aspirational district it deserves special focus of the State and Central governments. He assured that he would take up the problems faced by the district with the centre.
