A free medical health camp under the Civic Action Programme of the Border Security Force (BSF) was held in and around the city today.
The camp was organized as part of series of programs organized by BSF to celebrate its Raising Day. To mark the day each year a number of events are organized all over India, especially in border areas for the welfare of the local border population as well as to develop a good understating between Seema Praharies and local population and the administration.
During the camp spectacles and wheelchair was also distributed to the needy personnel of Nongmynsong and Mawpat areas. A special team of doctors, and consultants and nurses from BSF and Civil Hospital under the supervision of Dr Richhpal Singh, CMO BSF conducted free consultations and checkups in general health for all the visitors who attended the camp.
In addition to this, free Blood Pressure Checkup, Blood Sugar Checkup, BMI Checkup was carried out on the visitors to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension which is one of the most worrisome health issue prevalent in this region. The visitors were also given free medicines.
