Nongstoiñ, Jul 14: Random testing for Covid-19 has begun today at Nongstoiñ which was conducted by the Health department.
Today, health workers were seen in the streets of Nongstoiñ where they conducted random testing on a number of policemen and traffic police personnel.
Continuing with this random testing, the health workers will now start testing the general population with emphasis on drivers of commercial vehicles.
“This is being done to contain and prevent the spread of Covid-19,” the health workers said today while urging the district administration to advise shopkeepers, drivers of commercial vehicles and the general population to step forward and be tested.
They also said that the date and time of the testing will be arranged by the District Health and Medical Officer in consultation with the Dorbar Shnongs.
Meanwhile, the district administration has urged all the residents of the district to strictly adhere to the guidelines and protocols issued by the Health department and the State government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
