Shillong, Nov 4: Agriculture Minister Timothy D. Shira on Wednesday inaugurated the first Meghalaya Collectives store in the State, below Dylan’s Cafe in Shillong.
Led by the Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board, the store brings together products from farmers, cooperatives, self-help groups, artisans and rural entrepreneurs across Meghalaya. It builds on the Collectives’ store in Delhi and its online presence, including Amazon.
“This marks an important step in connecting our farmers, artisans and rural entrepreneurs with stronger markets and better economic opportunities,” Shira said. He said the State has facilitated market linkages for over 2,100 metric tonnes of produce, generating trade worth about Rs 22 crore.
On the occasion, Meghalaya Collectives signed an MoU with Organic Mandya for dedicated shelf space for Meghalaya products in its outlets in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The programme also saw the release of the Meghalaya Collectives Product Handbook 2026-2027.
