Shillong, Oct 29: Two more Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) leaders arrested in connection with the August 19 violence during a bike rally were released on bail today.
The leaders are KSU eastern circle secretary Samuel Kharbani, arrested on September 3, and Banjoplang Dkhar, president of the KSU Shillong eastern circle, arrested on September 11.
Both were welcomed by union members as they exited Shillong District Jail on Thursday.
The union has expressed hope that the remaining detained leaders will also secure bail soon.
