Shillong, Oct 29: The PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), a constituent institution of USTM, formally welcomed its new batch of MBBS students on Thursday with an orientation programme and White Coat Ceremony.
Former AIIMS New Delhi Director Dr R C Deka and Nemcare Hospital MD Dr Hitesh Baruah were guests.
USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque and Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma shared their vision of developing PIMC into a premier hub for healthcare education and research in the Northeast.
The highlight was the White Coat Ceremony marking the students’ entry into the medical profession. Vice Principal Prof (Dr) Swaroop Kr Baruah administered the Physician’s Oath.
A parent-teacher meet was also held to foster collaboration between the institution and families.
PIMC Director of Health Care Education & Research Prof (Dr) Jogesh Sarma and Director of Medical Administration Prof (Dr) AC Kataki also addressed the gathering.
