Shillong, Oct 15: The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO), Jaintia Hills has sought urgent repair of a road stretching from 4-Mile to Khliehtyrshi in West Jaintia Hills.
In a letter to NHAI Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Shillong and NHIDCL, HITO said the road is in deplorable condition, causing inconvenience and posing serious risk to commuters, drivers and pedestrians.
“Presence of potholes and deteriorating surface may lead to accidents if immediate action is not taken,” the organisation said.
General Secretary Cressence Ksoo said timely intervention will ensure public safety and smoother transportation, urging prompt action in public interest.
