An all-time record has been created for wrongdoing, where crores of bona fide voters have systematically been deprived of exercising their franchise in the elections. Given the slow pace at which their appeals are being heard, they cannot expect to regain their voting rights anytime soon. This is certainly the darkest hour of Indian democracy. The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi rightly said that for the first time since 1947, our elections are fundamentally broken. It has been reported that two election commissioners who enjoy equal power with the CEC recorded 14 objections about the functioning of the EC. It must be investigated and all of its arbitrary actions must be revoked.
