Shillong, Sept 25: The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) has warned banks of public mobilisation if they open on Sunday, September 27.
In a final notice issued today, General Secretary Balkarin Ch. Marak said authorities failed to reconsider the decision despite strong objections.
“Sunday is a sacred day of worship, family and community life in Meghalaya,” CoMSO said, adding people will not accept its disregard for administrative convenience.
If any bank opens, CoMSO will oppose such establishments across the state, with responsibility on those who ignored public sentiment, it warned.
