The United Democratic Party (UDP) has suspended three of its MLAs who joined the BJP today morning.
Suspended are Ollan Singh Suin (Mawsynram), Kyrmen Shylla (Khliehriat) and Matthew Beyondstar Kurbah (Mawphlang).
UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh said the party had served them a show-cause notice and gave them till today to appear before the State Parliamentary Board in person or in writing.
“None of them responded,” Lyngdoh said after an emergent meeting at the UDP office.
The three had publicly announced their move to BJP in the run-up to Wednesday’s merger in Delhi.
