Shillong, Sep 22: The Indian Rugby Football Union (Rugby India) has granted provisional affiliation to the Meghalaya Rugby Association (MRA).
The affiliation is effective from September 21, 2026. The IRFU board approved it at its meeting on September 19, the MRA said today.
Rugby India is the official national governing body for the sport of rugby in India and Meghalaya players can now take part in Rugby India competitions and development programmes and the MRA will receive technical support from Rugby India to grow the sport in the state.
Players, schools, colleges and clubs who want to join are invited to contact the MRA.
