Shillong, Sep 19: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma participated in the conference of State Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries on the theme ‘Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat’ held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The conference deliberated on strengthening public finances, innovative financing mechanisms, agriculture, energy transition, technology and measuring economic growth through Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
The Chief Minister said the discussions were particularly relevant to Meghalaya’s economic transformation under Mission 10, which focuses on creating opportunities, strengthening infrastructure, supporting livelihoods and enterprises, and building a more resilient and sustainable economy.
He said the platform provided an opportunity to learn from experiences of other states, engage with experts and explore innovative approaches to financing development as the state works towards its vision for Meghalaya 2032.
The Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and all speakers and participants for the insightful deliberations.
