Shillong, Sep 17: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides today organized a cleanliness walk drive from its headquarters to Police Bazar as part of the ongoing National Level Training of Trainers (TOT) on Youth Led Action on Climate Change (Y-LACC) project, which began on September 15.
The early morning drive reinforced the importance of environmental stewardship. The programme also marked the observance of National Drivers’ Dignity Day, aimed at honouring the indispensable contributions of professional drivers to the local economy.
Participants presented tree saplings to local taxi and tourist drivers, emphasising safe driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations.
The event also included special recognition for bus drivers of STEMS Meghalaya at the headquarters, celebrating their commitment to providing safe and reliable transport for students, along with an acknowledgment of the official driver of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides.
