Shillong, Sep 15: The Rilbong neighbourhood is poised to celebrate its centenary with a variety of programmes lined up, beginning on October 2.
A ‘Centenary Run’ will be held on that day, followed by a food festival on October 3.
The celebration, to mark Rilbong’s founding in 1925, will be formally inaugurated on October 15 where 25 personalities drawn from different communities will be honoured posthumously for making a significant contribution to the evolution of Shillong during the last hundred years.
The run is being sponsored by Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, while the food fest is being sponsored by Magic Cook.
