Shillong, Sep 10: The NE STAR: Ultimate Music Talent Hunt began its live auditions today at Highland Toyota, Mawiong Rim.
The event coincides with Highland Toyota’s 15th anniversary in Meghalaya. Powered by Toyota and managed by Unitex Inc., the talent hunt, affiliated with the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS), aims to provide a platform for original musical voices across Northeast India.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director of Highland Toyota, Rahul Dev Sharma, said the initiative reflects Toyota’s belief in creating opportunities beyond mobility. “Music is the heartbeat of Meghalaya and NE STAR will give grassroots talent from every bosti a platform.”
The top two participants from the Mawiong Rim audition will be shortlisted to represent the state in the championship rounds. The results will be announced on September 16, 2026, on the official Instagram page @Nestar.official.
Similar auditions are being held across all eight northeastern states.
The grand finale will be held in Guwahati on September 27.
