Shillong, Aug 29: The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) on Saturday lodged an FIR at Mawryngkneng Police Station, alleging illegal entry of three suspected Bangladeshi nationals facilitated by a driver.
In the complaint HITO Mawryngkneng Circle Political Secretary Kynsaibor Myrboh and Organising Secretary Banjoplang Rynjah said on August 27 at 9:30 pm, its members intercepted the persons in a Hyundai Venue ML-05-AF-4614 driven by one Sansuma Nazary.
The three persons have been identified as Halim Khan, Sujan Khan and Rafiq Miah. The complaint stated that the driver claimed they hired a vehicle belonging to his mother.
HITO has sought verification of their identities, nationality, immigration status and documents and probe into the entry route and the role of the driver.
The organisation urged police to take strict action under immigration and anti-harbouring laws if an offence is established.
