Shillong, Aug 28: Meghalaya Police foiled sale of stolen bikes at Weiloi under East Khasi Hills and nabbed three thieves from Tamulpur, Assam.
Acting on tip-off police laid an ambush and caught the trio while one accomplice fled into the jungle, Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said.
Three bikes were recovered — two Yamaha R15 (AS-01-FV-4193, AS-27-F-1263) and a Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (AS-25-Z-1346).
Syiem said the three accused are in custody for verification and legal action and Assam police have been informed.
