Shillong, Aug 25: Four suspected stolen motorcycles were intercepted in West Jaintia Hills on Monday, police said today.
West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said Amlarem PS naka team at Ladjaplem stopped two bikes — AS-01FK 3482 and AS-26A 9873 — ridden by Pynshngai Jyrwa (23) of Umsning, Lasharai and Rijiedstar Shylla (27) of Umsning, Sohkyndur in Ri-Bhoi.
Verification revealed both were stolen from Changsari, Assam. Case under Sec 303(2) BNS registered there. Both bikes and riders were handed over to Changsari PS today.
The same day, Dawki PS intercepted two more bikes — NL-07EB 8467 and AS-05S 3378. Bikes kept at Dawki PS for verification.
The SP has urged the public to secure vehicles and report suspicious movement on 112.
