Shillong, May 29: Two persons were arrested in connection to the assault of a carpenter at a tourism resort project site undertaken by the Centrepoint Group in Laitkynsew, near Sohra.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said that the accused have been sent to police custody for three days.
A non-tribal carpenter, Rajkumar Sharma, was assaulted by a group of 15 men, allegedly claiming to be from the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU).
As of now, the condition of the assaulted carpenter remains unclear, with authorities providing no updates on his health or whereabouts.
