Editor,
Ladt Sunday night, I witnessed a disturbing incident near the Military Hospital where a blue colour car deliberately hit a scooty coming from the opposite direction and then fled the scene. It was clearly a case of hit and run. I stopped to assist the injured rider, and the experience left me deeply shaken.
As a parent and a concerned citizen, this incident raises an important question for all of us. To the reckless driver who fled. Have you paused to imagine what it would feel like if the same thing happened to one of your own relatives? Roads are shared by everyone, and such irresponsible behaviour can destroy lives in a matter of seconds.
I strongly urge the authorities to strengthen road surveillance, especially through the installation and proper monitoring of CCTV cameras in city road. CCTV footage can play a crucial role in identifying and apprehending culprits involved in hit-and-run incidents.
Road safety is a shared responsibility. Drivers must remember that a moment of recklessness can cause lifelong consequences for others.
