Shillong, Mar 10: Cabinet Minister and Amlarem MLA, Lahkmen Rymbui is optimistic that the trade and commerce between Meghalaya and Bangladesh will flourish under the new government in the neighbouring country.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday Rymbui, who represents the border area of Amlarem, said that the people of bordering villages of India and Bangladesh are dependent on each other for trade and commerce.
Stating that they would support the Bangladesh government if it takes care of issues which go against the integrity of the country, Rymbui hoped that India and Bangladesh will open new avenues of cordial relationship for trade and commerce.
Expressing optimism that the new Government in Bangladesh seems keen to maintain peace and tranquility, he added that there are many Wars who are also citizens of Bangladesh.
