Shillong, Mar 4: The acclaimed film ‘Ha Lyngkha Bneng’ is coming back to its roots, with screenings scheduled at the U Soso Tham Auditorium from March 6 to 11.
Directed by the award-winning Pradip Kurbah, the film has done the rounds of several national and global film festivals, picking up plaudits along the way.
Addressing reporters today, Merlvin Mukhim, representing the film, expressed excitement about showcasing the film in its hometown. “We wanted to say that, after traveling to several film festivals and receiving accolades, the team of Ha Lyngkha Bneng is bringing the film back home to Shillong,” he said.
The film will be screened at the auditorium for six days, with show timings at 12 noon, 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
Cinema allows people to reflect on society and connect as a community, Mukhim opined, and screening the film at the U Soso Tham Auditorium is a step towards nurturing a stronger cinema culture in Meghalaya.
The team behind the film hopes that this will inspire more collaboration between actors, institutions, audiences and the government to build a strong film culture in Meghalaya.
