Shillong, Mar 1: A 27-year-old woman, Absana Khatun, was killed in a hit-and-run incident at 12th Mile on National Highway 6 near Nongpoh.
The incident occurred around 3pm when Khatun was reportedly hit by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene.
The victim, a resident of Dharamyila, Dalgaon Sialmari, Assam, succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Her body was moved to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for a postmortem and other formalities.
