Shillong, Feb 27: Shillong Lajong named their squad for the Indian Football League 2025-26 today, ahead of their opening match on Sunday.
The club revealed yesterday that it was going with an all-Indian squad this season and the names revealed today confirm that. Today SLFC released the names of 29 players in a list published on social media.
Kenstar Kharshong will captain the side for the IFL, which is the rebranded I-League. Birendra Thapa will continue to coach the team.
The IFL 2025-26 season will adopt a different format to the I-League – teams will play a single leg in Stage 1 and the top five will then compete in a Championship Round and the bottom five in a Relegation Round.
Lajong will start their campaign at home on Sunday at the SSA Stadium against Rajasthan United, with kick-off at 6:30pm.
