Nongpoh, Feb 24: A large number of job-seeking youths thronged a recruitment drive organised by the Meghalaya State Skills Development Society (MSSDS) Ri-Bhoi in Bhoirymbong block today.
The recruitment drive was conducted by MSSDS under the Labour, Employment and Skills Development Department of the state government, with the objective of creating employment opportunities and enhancing skill development among local youths.
Close to 1,000 job aspirants from different parts of the region turned up to register themselves and explore opportunities for employment and skill training, both within the state and outside, including placements beyond the region through MSSDS initiatives.
Speaking to the media, Saibok Khriam, Skills Development Officer of MSSDS Ri-Bhoi, stated that the primary aim of such recruitment drives is to open doors for unemployed youths who are eager to work and to provide them with the necessary skill training and employment support.
He further informed that the recruitment drive will continue at Umsning block on February 26.
