Shillong, Feb 18: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has announced that the Monolith Festival will not be conducted this year.

He said the decision will be revisited when the council’s financial position improves.
Meanwhile, the CEM informed the House that the district council functions with 97 casual staff, with 88 in the executive committee, nine in the legislative secretariat, and none in the district council court.
Lyngdoh also provided salary details of the Civil Works and Development (CWD) department staff receiving Rs 5,000 per month, computer operators Rs 8,000, contractual sectional assistants Rs 12,000 and 19 forest department staff Rs 5,000 each.
