Shillong, Feb 14: A review meeting on activities of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in Meghalaya was held at the North-Eastern Hill University, yesterday attended by Department of Youth Affairs Additional Secretary Nitesh Kumar Mishra.
Mishra interacted with the State NSS Officer, Programme Coordinators and Programme Officers from across the State.
The session deliberated upon key operational and implementation aspects to further strengthen youth engagement in community development and nation-building initiatives.
During the review, discussions were held on effective conduct of NSS special camps, improved documentation and reporting, optimal utilisation of funds, and enhanced convergence with various government schemes to maximize community impact.
The Additional Secretary appreciated the dedicated efforts of NSS units in Meghalaya and encouraged volunteers to continue serving society with discipline, commitment, and a spirit of leadership.
Mishra also formally released the posters of MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, marking the launch of intensified outreach and publicity efforts in the State. The initiative aims to promote budget literacy, civic awareness, and informed participation among the youth.
