The office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya, today launched the Online Pension Application Module (OPAM), a new digital facility integrated with the existing e-Pension portal.
The module was inaugurated by L Hangsing, Principal Accountant General (A&E) in the presence of Meghalaya government officials Swapnil Tembe, Secretary (Finance–Pension), and BL Nonglait, Director of Accounts & Treasuries, as well as Benos Lyngskor, Scientist (F), NIC Shillong, and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Hangsing highlighted that the launch of OPAM marks a significant milestone in the office’s digital transformation journey towards end-to-end digitisation of the pension process. He stated that the initiative would enhance transparency in service delivery, reduce paperwork, minimise processing delays and provide a seamless experience for pension applicants.
Tembe appreciated the initiative and assured full support from the state government for its effective implementation and usage.
OPAM enables state government employees, All India Service (AIS) officers and family members of deceased employees to submit pension applications anytime and from anywhere through a secure and user-friendly digital platform.
The key features of the module include online submission of pension forms, digital uploading of documents, real-time tracking of application status and faster processing of pension cases, a press release said today.
