Shillong, Dec 17: The Hynniewtrep Youth Development Council (HYDC), Mawryngkneng Circle, apprehended 10 individuals suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals yesterday.
The individuals were intercepted while en route to Saw Kilo, East Jaintia Hills District.
The HYDC members stated that the individuals claimed to be from Assam and produced Aadhaar cards from that state, yet were unable to speak Assamese or Hindi. The group said they did not possess labour licenses.
The individuals were handed over to the Mawryngkneng police station.
