Shillong, Dec 14: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority organised the National Lok Adalat on Saturday across all districts in Meghalaya, under the guidance of Chief Justice Soumen Sen of the Meghalaya High Court and the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
Justices HS Thangkhiew and W Diengdoh also participated in the lok adalat, interacting with lawyers and litigants.
A total of 653 cases were taken up, including 246 pre-litigation and 407 pending cases. Of these, 186 cases were settled, amounting to Rs 1.66 crore.
