Shillong, Nov 1: The Department of Music, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) conducted a series of music classes at Mawlong Secondary School from October 3 to 31.
These classes were held every Friday as part of MLCU’s initiative to promote music education and creative expression among school students.
Throughout the month-long program, students were introduced to various instruments and musical forms, including piano, guitar, ukulele, Ksing and singing. The sessions offered students a hands-on experience in both contemporary and indigenous music, encouraging them to appreciate the diversity and beauty of musical traditions.
The department said the activities provided an enriching platform for students to discover and nurture their musical talents. Such activities will be conducted in collaborations with schools and institutions that share the vision of empowering young minds through the joy of music, it said.
