The makers of the Khasi film ‘9 Lad’ launched a new poster to promote the movie today after the old one fell foul of the National Tobacco Control Programme.
The previous poster contained a depiction of smoking.
“We did nothing intentionally and neither was this done to promote any cigarette brand, so we have launched a new poster as per the direction of the National Tobacco Control Programme, which does not permit display or promotion of cigarettes in films,” the film’s director-producer, Commander Shangpliang, told reporters today.
He appealed to the public not to share or further circulate the old poster of the film on social media.
He also informed that the film, which was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, will be screened in cinemas again from March 26 at Bijou and from April 2 at Galleria.
