The Meghalaya Trinamool Congress today claimed that 73 per cent of the people in the State have voted for Mukul Sangma as the chief minister as opposed to Conrad Sangma.
The party in a statement here stated that the percentage was calculated from a digital poll conducted and those who voted found the leadership of Conrad, “futile.”
“After Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s drastic failure in securing a seamless law and order situation for the state, the people of Meghalaya have shown an overwhelming response in choosing Dr. Mukul Sangma, Trinamool Congress Legislature Party Leader and Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, as the next Chief Minister for the poll-bound state,” the party stated.
It said that while lawlessness is in an upsurge under the NPP-led MDA government, people have demonstrated that their faith lies with Meghalaya TMC.
