Acting on information received, Ri-Bhoi police seized six lorries transporting what was suspected to be illegally sourced coal.
The seizure was made on the Mairang to Umrit road, which connects to Umling on National Highway 6.
The police conducted an operation at 18th Mile and 19th Mile and found the trucks parked on the roadside.
They have been brought to Byrnihat police outpost for further action.
