Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that the State government has distributed over Rs 200 crore to Self Help Groups (SHGs) throughout the State under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
Speaking at the SHG mela at Latyrke under Saipung C& RD Block the chief minister said that the State has over 40,000 SHGs with an average overall membership of over four lakh women.
At Latyrke, the chief minister distributed Rs 30 lakhs to 60 SHGs during the programme.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also distributed cheques to 46 producer groups under the Saipung C & RD Block amounting to Rs 25 lakhs through the Farmer’s Collectivization for Upscaling Production and Marketing Systems (FOCUS) programme.
