A workshop aimed to equip Class 9 and 10 students with knowledge about drone technology and its recent advancements was held for children in the Smit area.
A total of 449 students from seven schools participated in the workshop. The participating schools included Loreto Mary Ward School, Umphyrnai; St Francis De Sales Secondary School, Lad Nongkrem; Ibasara Secondary School, Iewpomtiah; Mount Gerizim Secondary School, Smit; St Peter Secondary School, Smit; and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Smit.
In his inaugural address, Br Albert Longley Dkhar, Principal of Don Bosco HSS, emphasised the importance of such programmes in sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for learning among young minds.
Arun Kumar Sarma, Director General of NECTAR, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the relevance of drone technology in the future and the benefits of workshops like these in schools.
The workshop was designed to shape the future generation where innovation and discovery thrive, and it provided a platform for students to learn about the latest advancements in drone technology.
By introducing students to this cutting-edge technology, the organisers aimed to inspire and motivate them to explore new possibilities and pursue careers in science and technology.
