The Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) of Nongjri has alleged that the office of the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (MePDCL) has not taken steps to fix the broken down transformer at Nongjri village for the past one month.
Stating that the transformer has been left unattended since June 14, HYC secretary Arthur Thongni said this has affected students in their online classes and put the people in the region in great hardship.
The HYC has urged the office of the MePDCL’s Mawsynram Division to replace or immediately repair the transformer.
