Altogether 35,250 students from 385 schools in the state will receive tablet computers under the Chief Minister Digital Learning Aid for Students Scheme 2021-2022.
This was informed by Information and Technology Minister, Hamletson Dohling at a tablet distribution programme for Class 11 students of three schools under Mylliem Constituency yesterday.
Students of the Gorkha Higher Secondary School, Mylliem Presbyterian Higher Secondary school and Pomlum Higher Secondary School received the tablets in the presence of IT Director KL Nongbri, BDO of Mylliem C&RD Block PT Passah, including principal and teachers of the schools.
Speaking on the occasion Dohling said that the scheme, which was launched in 2013, was earlier distributed to only Class 12 students. He said this has changed as Class 11 students have been included in the scheme to empower them in the changing world.
Dohling urged students not to misuse the tablets but to use them effectively.
