Altogether 32 meritorious students who cleared the board examinations were felicitated at the first MLA Academic Excellence Award held in Nongstoiñ yesterday.
The program was attended by Nongstoiñ MLA Gabriel Wahlang as the chief guest. West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Garod LSN Dykes, Superintendent of Police, Bikram Marak, students and teachers from various schools in Nongstoin were present at the function.
Addressing the gathering, Wahlang announced cash prizes to the top students in secondary, higher secondary, and degree levels, as well as those who had passed the preliminary tests for the MPS and MCS, among other competitive exams to encourage students.
