Thirty one students from different schools of the State who scored the highest marks in the Science Technology & Mathematics subject during the Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations conducted by MBOSE during the year 2021–2022, will be felicitated on National Science Day.
The State will observe the day from March 22 and 23, to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by renowned Indian Physicist, Prof CV Raman.
The two-day long programme will be jointly organised by State Council of Science Technology & Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya, Bio Resources Development Centre (BRDC) and Shillong Science Centre at the State Convention Centre, (Pinewood Annex), Shillong.
The programme is being supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Global Science for Global wellbeing” Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice Chancellor, North Eastern Hills university will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function.
The event will include many S&T activities to be taken part by different Scientific/Research Institutes, Innovators of NE region, Research Scholars from Universities, School Eco Clubs and School Students from the State.
Poster Presentations, Science Experiments, Science model exhibition, Science Popular Talk, Science Skits, Fancy dress by school students on personalities in the field of Science & Technology, Puppetry Show and also Open quiz, Drawing/Painting and Extempore speech competitions will be the main highlights during the programme.
