Shillong, Feb 25: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), functioning under the Department of Labour, Employment and Skill Development, organised a recruitment drive at Mawkyrwat block yesterday.
The drive witnessed the participation of 300 candidates, mainly unemployed youth, job seekers aspiring for placements outside the state and individuals interested in exploring overseas employment opportunities.
B Mawlong, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills, attended the inaugural session. In his address, he encouraged the youth to dedicate themselves to every training opportunity so that they may successfully achieve their goals. He also highlighted that such platforms serve as a direct link between job seekers and employers, helping to bridge information gaps and expand access to employment opportunities both within or outside the state and outside the country.
Similar recruitment drives have or will be conducted in other districts of Meghalaya.
