Thirty artisans from diverse backgrounds completed training on handmade woollen knitting conducted by the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community College (DDUCC) and Skill Development Centre, Wahiajer
The seven-day training programme, which commenced on March 12 was held to empower local youth, particularly women, with essential vocational skills to enhance their economic independence and promote sustainable livelihoods.
The trainees were provided hands-on training through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions led by experienced resource persons and trainers. The training covered various aspects of knitting, including cutting, stitching, and the effective use of trimmings, enabling participants to significantly refine their craft skills.
This initiative aligns with DDUCC’s and NEHU’s broader commitment to promoting vocational education and skill development in accordance with NEP 2020 and the vision of (L) Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
