Three suspected cattle smugglers were arrested and 40 cattle seized by a joint team of the BSF and police in West Jaiñtia Hills district.
BSF said acting on a tip-off the team confiscated three trucks on Muktapur-Amlarem road with the cattle meant for smuggling to Bangladesh.
The accused are residents of Ri Bhoi and have been handed to police along with the seized cattle in Muktapur police outpost for legal action.
A total of 450 cattle meant for smuggling were seized by the BSF since January this year.
