Three persons were arrested by West Jaiñtia Hills police today for smuggling of psychotropic substance.
Superintendent of Police, BD Marak said that while working on credible inputs, three people travelling in a truck bearing registration number B/R No. AS 25 EC 3411 was detained at Phramer at around 11: 30 am. He said after a search 37 packages of wrapped psychotropic substance suspected to be ganja weighing about 422.15 kg was recovered.
Marak said the three people were then arrested and a case under the relevant sections of NDPS Act was lodged.
