Shillong, Aug 28: Police in West Garo Hills have been able to secure the conviction of suspects in 27 cases relating to crimes committed against women and children between 2022 and 2025.
The police broke down the figures by year. Five were convicted of such crimes in 2022, four in 2023, 11 in 2024 and eight in the current calendar year.
In a statement issued today, the West Garo Hills police stated that the achievement reflects the continuous commitment, sincerity and professional dedication of the Investigating officers of the district in ensuring that justice is delivered to the victims of crime and that offenders are brought before the law.
