The passing out parade of the 191st Recruit Training Batch of 58 Gorkha Training Centre was held at the Harish Parade Ground, Happy Valley here today.
This marks the culmination of rigorous recruit training during which young boys are transformed into physically fit, mentally robust and professionally competent young soldiers of Indian Army.
In an impressive ceremony marked by immaculate turnout and precision marching, 252 recruits took the ‘Oath of Affirmation’. These young soldiers will now be despatched to their battalions dedicated to serve and protect the Motherland.
The Parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General PN Ananthanarayanan, SM, General Officer Commanding 9 Corps, Colonel 8 GR & the President Gorkha Brigade who congratulated the young Soldiers for the successful completion of their training and stressed upon the importance of valour, honour, ethos, sacrifice and putting the service before self in line with the finest traditions of the Indian Army.
Recruit Kamal Gurung was awarded Best recruit of 5GR(FF) and Recruit Amardas Gurung was awarded best recruit of 8 GR and also Overall Best Recruit.
