The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) is set to organise ‘Skillerate Connect’ on March 17-18 at Kynshi Football Ground, Eastern West Khasi Hills.
This two-day event will serve as a platform for youth empowerment, aimed at bridging the gap between skill development and employment opportunities, a press release stated today.
Key highlights of the event will include a job fair where job seekers will be able to connect with several employers from different sectors, explore career opportunities and engage with companies directly. There will also be an employers’ meet for businesses and organisations to identify skilled talent and discuss workforce requirements.
A marketplace showcasing the works of local artisans, entrepreneurs and self-help groups (SHGs) and live music and food stalls will also be features of the event.
MSSDS expects over 2,000 youth from across Eastern West Khasi Hills to participate, gaining direct exposure to employment opportunities and entrepreneurial resources. With 60 stalls set up for exhibitions, the event, it is hoped, will also provide a crucial boost to local businesses and MSMEs.
