Five persons were feared dead in a landslide that occurred at Parmaw Dhobi Ghat Laban in Shillong on Friday.
The persons who are missing includes Firoza Khan (40) Reziya Ahmed (38) , Bela Ahmed (40) Imaded Nongrum (60) and Kayam Uddin (42). All of them were residents of the houses damaged completely in the landslide.
Two occupants who were washed away, managed to come out of the nearby stream. They were identified as Md Hasmuddin (30), and his elder brother Md. Azamuddin (35). They were provided emergency medical help by the 108 emergency service team at the site.
One injured in the landslide, Thomas Mylliemngap was shifted to Shilong Civil Hospital for treatment.
All other occupants of the area were shifted to other safe place for the time being.
