Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Meghalaya detained two suspected smugglers, seized 10,000 kgs of sugar yesterday.
Personnel of the 110 Battalion of the BSF successfully intercepted a vehicle loaded with the sugar and detained the Indian driver and co-driver near Bholaganj in East Khasi Hills.
Upon questioning, the two in the vehicle were unable to produce valid documents pertaining to the sugar consignment. They were handed over to the Customs office Bholaganj for further legal proceedings.
